At 10:00 AM you will board on semi-submarine “Seascope”, where you will be offered a welcome drink on the upper deck as the boat sails away from the shore. When the Seascope reaches the famous coral reefs of Dahab, you will be invited to the underwater observatory where you will watch colorful corals and bright tropical fish through large panoramic windows. The excursion group will be accompanied by a friendly guide, who will entertain you with an interesting lecture about the marine inhabitants. The trip on the submarine take approximately 1.5 hour.
At 12:00 PM you will return to the jetty where a beautiful luxurious yacht will be waiting for you. On the upper deck of the yacht you can sunbathe and take pictures against breathtaking Sinai mountains panorama. During the trip the yacht will make two stops for snorkeling. An attentive instructor will help you to choose and fit fins and a mask and help you to feel confident in the water. Life jackets of different sizes are available for those who cannot swim. You will take lunch in the elegant onboard restaurant, where delicious European and Oriental specialties will be presented in the buffet . The yacht trip takes about three hours.
When you return to the jetty, you will take a bus to the center of Dahab. You will have some free time to explore the local shops or stay at one of the cozy shore cafes. WOMAN ON BOARD!
Let’s choose an outfit for a yacht cruise!
While preparing for a boat trip, you should remember that there is a certain etiquette and certain dress-code for the sea. Nautic Casual is the dress-code known and followed by the yacht lovers all over the world.
Let’s start with shoes. High heels are inadmissible here. Firstly, they can damage the deck of the yacht leaving pinchers and scratches on it. Secondly, heels can be dangerous for your own legs, if you suddenly slip on the polished surface or stumble during the motion. Soft moccasins put on bare feet are the best choice for a day in the sea!
Skirts are also not advised, if you dress in a short skirt, you will have to hold it down all the time because of the wind. Moreover, you will feel uncomfortable walking up the narrow steps to the upper deck. In addition, you won’t avoid the attention of the jetty workers! So it’s better to choose wide trousers of natural fabric.
According to the nautical traditions, yacht cruisers wear white clothes or any combinations of blue and white. For example, you can go for white trousers and blue striped top. Golden details on white clothes look very elegant against the blue of the sea. Cold winds are blowing in the Red Sea in the period from November to March, so take a warm jacket or a windbreaker.
Please don’t forget about the sunglasses to protect your eyes from intensive sunlight and bright spots on the water surface.
ETYMOLOGY OF THE YACHT
The word “yacht” comes from Dutch word “jagen” that means “to pursue”. In the old times this word was used for light and fast sailing boats used to pursue and arrest the pirates ships.
The history of the leisure yachting started when the Dutch presented a yacht to English King Charles II. Royalties used this yacht for river cruises along the Thames. Later yacht owners and lovers of uncrowned societies started to unite into yacht clubs.
Modern yacht is any vessel used for recreational activities – sport, leisure or tourism. Yachts exclude any vessels used for transportation, engineering or saving works in the sea.
After the World War II yachts became even more popular. Many yacht cruises were organized between the islands of the Aegean Sea, in the Mediterranean and Baltic Sea, in the area of the Caribbean Islands. As for the Red Sea, yachting here is quite a new activity, but it has already become popular among tourists from all over the world.
